IRVIN-HOUSE VINEYARDS MAKES NATIONAL DEBUTNBC Today Show to feature Charleston 's Only Winery-July 29 CHARLESTON, SC Charleston's only winery and vineyards, Irvin-House Vineyards, will be in the national spotlight when it makes its debut on the NBC Today Show this Friday, July 29, between 7 and 10 a.m. Featured in the 2005 Michelin Guide, The Washington Times, Wine Report, SC Homes & Garden and Charleston Magazine, Irvin-House was founded in 2001, by Jim and Ann Irvin. The Irvins grow four varieties of muscadine grapes, a fruit indigenous to the Southeast, and produce five labels of award winning muscadine wine: Tara Gold, Magnolia, Live Oak Reserve, Mullet Hall and Palmetto. A favorite wine among Southerners for centuries, the Irvins have reinvented it for the modern palette. Irvin House is located on Wadmalaw Island outside of Charleston . The winery is opened to the public Thursday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free tours are available every Saturday at 2 p.m. Visitors can taste authentic wine, visit the vineyards and stroll through the property. Irvin-House wines are available at Whole Foods Market and O'Hara & Flynn in Mt. Pleasant , Piggly Wiggly stores, Kennedy's Bakery, In Good Taste, Toddy Shop, Wine Shop at the Charleston 's Marina, World Market, Harris Teeter as well as Total Wine in West Ashley.
