CHARLESTON, SC- After its successful début at one of New York City’s most prominent events-The Henry Street Settlement’s Mardi Gras Masquerade
Ball on Saturday, March 10, 2007, FireFly Vodka has been picked up for distribution in New York area by Windmill Distributing. The distributor will start selling FireFly in May 2007 mainly targeting Southern style restaurants as well as other points of sale with connections to the South.

“Young New Yorkers fell in love with FireFly at the Masquerade Ball,” said Scott Newitt, one of the vodka’s co-owners, who attended the event. “FireFly was a huge success,” he added.

With title sponsors, including the prestigious Christie’s supporting the event, more than 300 of New York’s young elite attended, raising money for the nonprofit organization benefiting Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Guests of the evening enjoyed one of the evening’s signature drinks, The FireFly Flambeau.  The cocktail, a combination of FireFly Vodka with Chambord Raspberry Liqueur and fresh lime juice, added to the evening’s Mardi Gras flair with its strong connection to the festival’s founding city.

Introduced in April 2006, FireFly Vodka is becoming a sensation in the South with distribution in South Carolina and Georgia. In 2006, it received the Silver Medal by the Beverage Testing Institute, outscoring popular vodkas Absolut, Finlandia, Fris and Ketel One, and has received rave reviews by renowned spirit critics.
