Chocolate Seductions – Charleston Chocolate Tour for Valentines
Charleston, S.C.—January 9, 2006 – Treat your Valentine to creamy, velvety happiness on a special culinary tour through Charleston’s dark and sweeter side. Join Charleston’s top pastry chefs as they follow Cupid’s path to love’s heart with fabulous chocolate creations. Sponsored by Carolina FoodPros, the chocolate tours will run on February 3, 17 and 24 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Led by culinary expert, Amanda Dew Manning, guests will go behind the scenes, learn all about chocolate and delight their palates with this sweet aphrodisiac. The tours showcase top pastry chefs as they share their passion for this sensual, seductive and utterly irresistible food. Participating restaurants include the award-winning Charleston Grill, Carolina’s, Cypress, Fish, McCrady’s, Oak, and Tristan.
Each of the featured chefs introduces their own chocolate specialties. Vinzenz Aschbacher, the master pastry chef of the Charleston Grill, captivates guests with his knowledge of the “food of the gods” and his exquisite dessert creations.
Michelle Rupe, executive pastry chef of McCrady’s, showcases her favorite chocolate indulgences and offers insight on how “home cooks” can create chocolate sensations.
Ryan Herrmann, executive chef at Fish Restaurant, entertains and educates guests with his creative genius for working with new dessert and party ideas.
Mary Ellen Battistelli, pastry chef of Oak Steakhouse, indulges her guests with desserts echoing Chef McKee’s cuisine – simple and comforting, yet melt-in-your-mouth fabulous.
M. Kelly Wilson, pastry chef at Cypress, demonstrates her inspired approach to dessert classics while sharing her special tips for working with chocolate.
Tristan’s Jered Young, recognized for his artistic ability to create delectable masterpieces with chocolate, will introduce guests to Tristan’s warm chocolate cake accompanied by sweet almond chantilly & warm chocolate fondue.
Ann Stafford, executive pastry chef at Carolina’s, takes you behind the scenes and shows you how to create your own chocolate nib ice-cream.
